What TruSauce is
TruSauce is a free web app for Dubai that turns food reels into real places — and tells you whether the recommendation delivered. Share an Instagram reel or YouTube video and TruSauce finds the restaurant, the dishes and any deal mentioned. A few days later it asks if it lived up to the hype, and those verdicts become the Rec’s TruScore.
Why it exists
Dubai’s food scene is discovered on Instagram, but reels are made to be watched, not used. The place is in the audio, or a tagged account, or a hashtag three lines down — or just “📍 Dubai”. And once you find it, there’s no way to know whether the reel was honest, paid, or simply lucky on the day.
TruSauce fixes both halves: finding the place, and finding out whether the recommendation held up for the people who followed it.
What’s different about it
- It rates the recommendation, not the restaurant. TruScore asks one question about one post. See the formula.
- It shows its working. Every place match comes with the signal behind it and a confidence score, and weak matches are labelled as suggestions.
- It’s private by default. No sign-up, no ads, no trackers. Only verdict totals are public.
- It’s independent. Restaurants and creators can’t pay for or edit a TruScore.
Where it works
Dubai first, and the rest of the UAE. Instagram reels and posts, and YouTube videos and Shorts, are supported. It runs in any modern browser and can be installed on Android and iPhone home screens.

TruSauce is operated by the TruSauce team. It isn’t affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Instagram, Meta, YouTube or Google.
