TruSauce Terms of Service Last updated 26 September 2026

1. Agreement

These terms apply to the TruSauce website at https://trusauce.ae, the installable TruSauce app, the “Save to TruSauce” Shortcut, the TruSauce WhatsApp chat, and the @trusauced Instagram account (together, the “Service”), operated by the TruSauce team (“TruSauce”, “we”, “us”). By using the Service you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, don’t use the Service.

2. The service

You share a link to a public Instagram or YouTube post with TruSauce. TruSauce reads the post’s public information and turns it into a Rec: the restaurant or food spot it recommends, the dishes, prices and offers mentioned, and related videos or reviews. You can save Recs to a list, and after trying one, say whether it delivered. The Service is free, needs no sign-up (an anonymous account is created when you first save), and is currently focused on the United Arab Emirates.

You can optionally sign in with Google or an email address and password to use your list on more than one device. Creating an account asks for your name; anything else you tell us about yourself is optional, should be accurate, and can be changed or removed on your account page. Keep your password to yourself and use one you don’t use elsewhere; you’re responsible for activity on your account, and should tell us at hello@trusauce.com if you think someone else has accessed it.

3. Who can use it

You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age to use Instagram in your country if that is higher. If you use the Service on behalf of a business, you confirm you’re authorised to accept these terms for it.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • submit links to private content, or content you have no right to share;
  • use the Service to harass, stalk, or locate a private individual — it’s for finding businesses, not people;
  • send automated or bulk requests, scrape the Service, or try to get around its rate limits;
  • give verdicts on places you haven’t tried, create multiple accounts, or otherwise try to push a TruScore up or down — including for a business you own, work for, or compete with;
  • probe, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or its infrastructure;
  • use results to build a competing dataset or service, or resell them;
  • misrepresent a result as an endorsement by TruSauce, a restaurant, or a creator;
  • break any law, or the terms of Instagram, YouTube, or Google, through your use of the Service.

We may block links, limit access, or stop providing the Service to anyone who breaks these rules.

5. What you submit

Recs are public. A Rec built from a link you share can be viewed by anyone with its link. Your list and your verdicts are private to your account. Only share links to public posts.

By sharing a link, giving a verdict, or sending feedback, you let us use it to operate and improve the Service — for example, to include your verdict in a Rec’s combined TruScore and to test matching accuracy. You confirm the link points to publicly available content.

6. Verdicts & TruScore

A verdict — Worth It, Overhyped, Hidden Gem, or Not for me — is your honest opinion of whether a specific recommendation lived up to the hype, after you tried it. TruScore combines everyone’s verdicts on one Rec. It is not a rating of the restaurant, the creator, food safety, or hygiene, and it isn’t a guarantee of your experience.

We may discount, remove, or not count verdicts that look automated, duplicated, or coordinated, and we may change how TruScore is calculated. Your individual verdicts are never shown publicly.

7. Other people’s content

Posts, videos, captions, thumbnails, and handles belong to their creators; restaurant names and logos belong to their owners. TruSauce links to that content and shows limited information from it so people can find the place it features. We don’t host or re-upload videos.

Creators and businesses can ask us to remove or correct anything about them — see Creators & takedowns. We may remove any content at our discretion.

8. Accuracy — please read

TruSauce uses automated tools, including AI, to read posts and match places. Results can be wrong or out of date. A match may point to the wrong business or branch; dishes, prices, and offers mentioned in a post may have changed or ended; a place may have closed. Transcripts and summaries may misquote what was said.

Confidence scores and “needs confirmation” labels are guidance, not guarantees. Check details such as location, opening hours, prices, and allergens directly with the business before you rely on them. TruSauce doesn’t review, recommend, or endorse any restaurant, and isn’t responsible for your experience at one.

9. Third-party services

The Service relies on and links to services we don’t control, including Instagram, YouTube, Google Maps, WhatsApp, and Apple Shortcuts. Your use of them is governed by their own terms, such as YouTube’s Terms of Service. TruSauce is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Instagram, WhatsApp, Meta, YouTube, Google, or Apple, and we’re not responsible for their content or availability.

10. Our intellectual property

The TruSauce name, logo, website design, and software are ours. You may use the Service for your own personal, non-commercial purposes, and share individual results with friends. Nothing in these terms gives you any other right to our brand or code.

11. Changes & availability

The Service is provided as it is and may change, pause, or stop at any time, with or without notice — including when a platform we depend on changes its rules. We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version. If you keep using the Service after an update, the new terms apply.

12. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent the law allows, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted availability.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, TruSauce won’t be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, or for lost time, money, or data, arising from your use of — or inability to use — the Service or any result it produces. Because the Service is free, our total liability for any claim relating to it is limited to AED 100.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t legally be limited, or removes rights you have as a consumer under the law where you live.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, as applied in the Emirate of Dubai. Before bringing any claim, please contact us so we can try to resolve it informally. If that doesn’t work, disputes will be heard by the competent courts of that jurisdiction, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring proceedings locally.

15. General

If part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a term isn’t a waiver of it. You may not transfer your rights under these terms; we may transfer ours as part of a reorganisation or sale of the Service. These terms, with the Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service.
