Delete your list and verdicts
Open your list in the browser or app where you saved things, and tap Delete my data. Everything tied to your anonymous account is erased immediately: saved Recs, verdicts, reminders, push notifications, your Shortcut key, and your activity log. Your verdicts also stop counting towards any TruScore.
On WhatsApp, send DELETE MY DATA to TruSauce. It erases the same things, plus the link to your WhatsApp number, straight away.
Browser accounts are anonymous, so we can’t find yours by email. If you’ve already cleared your browser data, the account is no longer linked to you in any way; it can’t be reopened.
Remove a Rec
Removing a Rec from your list is one tap. Removing a Rec from TruSauce entirely — for everyone — is for the post’s creator or the business it features. Email hello@trusauce.com with the Instagram or YouTube link; see Creators & takedowns. We can also block the link from being shared again.
Delete data from the Instagram channel
If you’ve messaged or tagged @trusauced, either of these removes everything held for your Instagram account:
- From Instagram (automatic). Go to Settings → Apps and websites, find TruSauce, and remove it. Instagram notifies us, we delete your data immediately, and you receive a confirmation code with a status page confirming the deletion.
- By email. Write to hello@trusauce.com with the Instagram username you used. We may ask you to send a DM from that account to confirm it’s yours, then confirm once the data is deleted.

What gets deleted

What’s kept, and why
- Backups. Our nightly database backups are kept for 14 days. Deleted data disappears from them as they’re overwritten — within 14 days, with no further action needed.
- A deletion record. For Instagram deletions we keep the confirmation code, your Instagram-scoped ID, how many records were removed, and when — so we can show the deletion happened. It contains none of the deleted content.
- Blocked links. If a creator asks us to block a link, we keep that link’s identifier so it can’t be looked up again.
- Review links for a place. Cached YouTube review links belong to the restaurant, not to any person, and aren’t removed by a personal deletion request.
On your device
Deleting your data clears TruSauce’s cookie from that browser. To remove TruSauce from your phone, uninstall the app like any other on Android, remove it from your Home Screen on iPhone, and delete the “Save to TruSauce” shortcut in the Shortcuts app.
